Inspiration & Meaning
Door #1 was painted during a deeply transitional period in my life, when our nonprofit organization was closing after many years of service. The piece became a metaphor for that moment — the door has no handle, representing the feeling of being stuck, unable to move forward or back, with no clear way out or in. Through texture, form, and color, I worked through the weight of loss and the beginning of renewal.
This painting is both a personal narrative and a universal symbol — an invitation for viewers to reflect on moments when growth is forced by stillness.
