This piece, White Rabbit #3, is part of my ongoing White Rabbit pyrography series. Burned by hand into wood, the rabbit is rendered in fine detail, complete with glasses and a pocket watch, symbolizing both intellect and the passage of time. Along the edge, the phrase “Who the hell is Alice?” adds a rebellious, humorous edge, nodding to the absurdity and curiosity woven throughout the Wonderland mythos.
The White Rabbit series began as a symbolic exploration of curiosity, imagination, and identity. Each variation reinterprets the figure with new details, expressions, or symbolic twists, allowing the rabbit to evolve while retaining its iconic role. This third installment in the series leans into playful irony, mixing meticulous craftsmanship with a tongue-in-cheek narrative that has made the series a favorite among collectors.
Though this work has since been sold, it stands as an important marker in the evolution of the White Rabbit series, balancing precision in pyrography with storytelling and wit.
