This figurative portrait painting is a personal work created from a photograph of my two granddaughters. Using a bold, pop art–inspired palette, I reimagined their likenesses in unexpected colors: vibrant purples, yellows, and blues layered over a soft gradient background. The expressive use of color transforms a familiar family photo into a work of contemporary art, both intimate and striking.
This painting is not for sale, as it now hangs in their bedroom at my home, but it remains an important part of my portrait portfolio. It reflects my approach to capturing not only likeness, but also energy, personality, and the joy of reinterpreting people I love through a surrealist-pop lens.
Collectors and designers often connect with this piece for its emotional resonance, unique style, and the way it demonstrates how portraiture can move beyond realism into something symbolic, playful, and deeply personal.
