Frequently Asked Questions
Are your pieces originals?
Yes! Each piece is an original created by me, Leslie Wisenbaker, in my Texas studio.
What materials do you use?
I use acrylic and oil paint, wood panels, reclaimed materials, and macrame’ yarn. Also, occasionally I use driftwood or pine from my property. Every painting and wood burning piece is sealed and signed for authenticity.
Do you use AI?
Yes I do! When I do surrealism work that is very intricate, I will produce an image to represent the symbolism I’m trying to capture. This process can take several days and the reference image is used as a guide for the painting. The reason I do this is because I care deeply about the placement of elements on the painting. Sometimes I have to make several reference images and piece them together until I get the desired result.
Do your paintings come framed?
Yes, but only at the request of the buyer. The cost of the frame is separate from the cost of the painting and will add about a week to the lead time.
Do you take commissions and how does it work?
Yes! I love creating personal, meaningful art for clients. You can order a custom painting, pyrography piece, or macramé piece by contacting me directly from the Commissions page. You will also find my guide for commissions which should answer the rest of your questions.
Can I request a specific theme, color palette, or symbol in my commission?
Of course! I encourage collaboration. Many clients bring me ideas or emotional themes, and I translate them visually in my style.
How long does a commission take?
Typically 2–4 weeks depending on size and complexity. I’ll give you an estimated completion date before we begin.
Do you do murals or corporate installations?
Yes, I take on large-scale commissions for businesses, offices, and public spaces. Reach out with your project details for a quote.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently I ship within the U.S. only, but international shipping can be arranged upon request.
How is the artwork packaged?
Every piece is carefully wrapped, padded, and boxed to ensure it arrives safely. I sign all my work and paintings will include a Certificate of Authenticity.
How are your prints made?
All prints are professionally produced to ensure museum-quality color and longevity.
Do you offer payment plans?
No. For commissions or higher-value pieces, I offer split payments—typically 50% upfront and 50% upon completion and prior to delivery/shipping.
What is your return or refund policy?
Due to the nature of custom art, all sales are final. However, if there’s ever an issue, I’ll work with you to make it right as long as it is in my control. Damaged product during shipping is outside of my control, for instance. My suggestion is, especially if you get a lot of damaged or lost parcels at your location, to pay extra for insurance to cover the costs. The good news is…all my paintings have arrived with no damage due to the care I take in packaging. So far so good!
I’m a first-time art buyer—can you help me choose a piece?
Absolutely! I love helping new collectors find artwork that fits their space and story. Reach out and tell me about your style or room—I'll offer suggestions. I also know a few interior designers that can collaborate to make sure your new art is exactly what you are looking for. your personal aesthetic is the most important factor!
