Octopus #2 was such a joy to create. I wanted to capture the hypnotic movement and beauty of the blue-ringed octopus—how it flows, curls, and seems alive even in stillness. I painted it in rich copper and turquoise tones against a soft aqua background to let the colors breathe and play off each other.

This piece was a special commission that now lives in a collector’s home, but it remains one of my favorites. The contrast of warm and cool tones gives it that sense of motion and energy I love bringing into my ocean-inspired work.

Every brushstroke was built in layers to create texture and depth so that, when the light hits it just right, it feels like the octopus might start to drift off the canvas.

Though this original has sold, I love creating custom works in a similar style. If you’re drawn to this one, reach out—I’d love to design a commissioned piece just for you.
